WVBA Completes 2006 USAV Season

SEATTLE, WA - 7/7/06
The 2006 WVBA USAV season came to an end this week as 17-Black and 18-Black finished their bracket play at JOs in Atlanta on Wednesday.

Junior Olympics Results
Four Academy teams traveled to Atlanta for the Junior Olympic National Championship tournament. WVBA 18-Black finished 21st overall in the Club National Division with a 2-0 win over NorCal Black 18-1 team from California.

17-Black finished with a win over Kirkwood Krew 17s from St. Louis, MO and then a forfeit in the finals of flight 5. They had to rush to the airport as the tournament was almost two hours behind. They finished 38th overall in the Club American Division.

16-Black finished play on Tuesday after a semi-final loss to Cincy Digs from Cincinnati, OH. 16-Black finished 27th overall in the Club American Division.

15-Black finished on Monday with a tough 3-set loss to Front Range 15 White of Denver, CO. They played this same team on day 1 with the same results setting up the makings of a new rivalry. 15-Black finished 23rd overall in the Club National Division.

Volleyball Festival Results
After five days of competition spanning six days, WVBA 14-Black finished 47th overall, WVBA 16-Red finished 106th overall, and 18-Red finished 73rd place overall. Thanks to all the players and parents and their coaches for a great 2006 season.

WVBA Grass Tournaments
WVBA will once again host grass tournament competition for junior players this summer.

WVBA will hold two tournaments on the grass this summer.

The first tournament will be held on Sunday July 30th at the Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center (Old Woodway High School) located at 23200 - 100th Ave. West, Edmonds, WA  98020.

Registration is open to all junior girls players in two age divisions. There will be a 16-18 year old division and an 18 & Under division. Click here to download a registration form.

The second grass tournament will be held on Saturday, August 19th. Again the location is the beautiful grass fields at the Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center.

Entry fee will be $20.00 per team. Individuals without a teammate can enter a draw and team up with other singles the morning of the event. Check-in will begin at 8:30am with play starting at 9:00am. Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place.

Bring your lawn chairs, picnic lunch, lots of water and sunscreen and enjoy the competition.
